Politics has intensified in Madhya Pradesh against the central government's decision to impose 0% GST on beef. The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has announced a phased protest, calling it a promotion of cow slaughter. PCC Chief Jitu Patwari will meet traders in Bhopal's New Market at 5 pm today and reveal the truth about the alleged extortions made under the GST system.
The Congress alleges that the BJP government is encouraging cow slaughter by promoting beef exports. Patwari said, "India has become the world's largest beef exporter, and BJP governments have a major role in this. We will not allow cow slaughter." The party has planned widespread protests against this decision before Diwali and Govardhan Puja. After discussions with traders today, demonstrations will be held in every district and block of Madhya Pradesh on September 26-27.
As part of the protest, Congress workers will take cattle roaming on the roads and highways to the collector's office. The party has also alleged irregularities in cow shelters, where cows are not receiving proper shelter. After the programmes in the cities, in the next phase, Congressmen will visit cow shelters and expose the reality.
