Madhya Pradesh witnessed a series of Tricolour-themed events on Thursday ahead of Independence Day, with Bhopal, Mandla and Harda hosting programmes involving security personnel, government officials, sportspersons, youths and local residents.

The biggest attraction was in Bhopal, where more than 350 boats carrying the national flag took part in a special Tricolour boat rally at the Boat Club on the Upper Lake. The event was organised as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to mark Independence Day with displays of the national flag.

The Upper Lake presented a striking sight as a large fleet of boats decorated with the Tricolour moved across the water.

Water-sports players who have arrived from different parts of the country, along with athletes from Madhya Pradesh, young people, members of social organisations and local residents, participated in the event.

Police, district administration, the sports department and State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) teams were deployed at the venue. Divers were also positioned as part of the safety arrangements.

Officials also made arrangements for traffic management, parking and cleanliness around the Boat Club area.

Cabinet Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang had inspected the Boat Club a day earlier to review preparations for the event.

CRPF Holds Bike Rally in Mandla

In Mandla, personnel of the 148th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a Tricolour bike rally on Thursday morning.

The rally passed through major roads of the city, with CRPF personnel carrying the national flag and spreading awareness about the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

During the rally, residents were encouraged to hoist the national flag at their homes and participate in Independence Day celebrations.

The initiative also highlighted the role of security forces in connecting patriotic programmes with local communities.

A separate Tricolour Yatra was organised by the district administration in Harda.

The procession began from the Middle School Ground and saw participation from Collector Siddharth Jain, Superintendent of Police Shashank and officials and employees from several departments.
