All unions will be on strike tomorrow on the call of Taxi Union Welfare Committee. They will protest in Ambedkar Park from 11 am to 5 pm regarding their demands.
More than 2500 taxi drivers and more than 2000 auto drivers associated with private service provider companies like Ola, Uber and Rapido will join the protest. Thousands of passengers traveling in the city through taxis and autos may face problems due to the strike.
These are their demands
Among the main demands of the union, illegal collection at the railway station should be stopped immediately. Proper parking facility should be provided at the airport and other public picnic points. Encroachment of private taxis should be stopped at the airport. Areas for battery autos should be determined. Illegal private and two-wheeler taxi services should be stopped immediately. Government rates should be imposed on private taxi companies.
Technical glitches of fitness machines should be corrected. Illegal extortion by police should be stopped. Government's illegal extortion in the name of panic button should be stopped. Government should arrange for permanent office for all unions, etc. are the demands.
