This incident created panic among the airport administration and security agencies. After the threatening email, the airport authority immediately lodged an FIR at Khamaria police station.

The email reached the airport director, which included a mail sent from an ID named Imam Hussain Ali. The mail contained the names of 10 passengers, who were allegedly informed about having RDX. The mail read, "Four RDX 800 base fuses have been deliberately doped in small quantities, so that the effect is reduced and there are no casualties." As soon as the threat was received, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), Police and CISF teams swung into action and searched every inch of the airport premises.
