Contractor not in Guilty; HC removes the contractor from blacklisting

The High Court has ordered withdrawal of the contractor’s company from blacklisting in 90 degree Bridge built in Aishbagh, Bhopal.

The bench of Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Vinay Saraf has cleared that when the work was going according to the PWD’s drawing, then the contractor had not held to be guilty.

The court also ask a report from Madhya Pradesh Government during the hearing on Thursday, the court also said that

 ‘’The Scapegoat is out now, now someone’s head will roll’’

On Earlier hearing on 10 September , an investigation report was submitted to the Chief Justice’s from Civil Engineering Department of Maulana Azad National Institute Technology (MANIT) and confirmed that the General Arrangement Drawing given to the contractor Puneet Chaddha mentioned a bridge angle of 119 degree.

Later, PWD Minister of Madhya Pradesh Rakesh Singh stated on 11 September in Jabalpur that there was no issue with the bridge however the matter was created in such way.

114 degree, not 90

The Minister further clarifies that the actual structure of the bridge is 114 degree not 90 degree and there is no technical error. He also said the action against the contractor is taken and the main reason behind this was poor coordination and the department has already made3 a report and providing’s to submit in the High Court for necessary proceedings.
