Contractor Scammed of Rs 90 Lakhs in Gwalior, Lured by Stock Market Profit Promise

A contractor, Sanjay Singh Chauhan, from the city has been cheated of Rs 90 lakhs with promises of hefty profits in the stock market. The contractor had invested money raised from selling his plot, but neither did he receive any profit nor was the principal amount returned. Upon discovering the fraud, Sanjay filed a complaint with the police.

The victim, Sanjay Singh Chauhan, residing in the Gola Ka Mandir area of Gwalior, stated that he was lured by promises of large profits on social media. He started investing through a private security company. Initially, Rs 40 lakh was invested, and later Rs 50 lakh was demanded more. He arranged this money from his savings as well as from the sale of his plot.

After receiving the complaint, Gwalior Police SSP Dharmveer Singh took the matter seriously and handed it over to the cyber cell for investigation. The cyber cell has asked the victim for all necessary documents and transaction proofs. Once the documents are received, the investigation will begin, and strict action will be taken against the accused.
