The process of implementing the ambitious rail project between Indore and Manmad has begun. 170.56 km of the 309-km Indore-Manmad rail line is located in Madhya Pradesh and will pass through three districts. Ground surveys for this rail line will begin in Madhya Pradesh in October, marking the land records of farmers along the rail route.

This railway line will pass through 18 villages in Indore district. In these villages, the names of the landowners falling under the rail line's jurisdiction have been verified to ensure no errors are made during the publication of the land records.
The Railways will begin survey work for this railway line, which will pass through the Mhow tehsil of Indore district, in October. This survey will be conducted at the ground level, with measurements and markings. The land area and Khasra numbers of the land falling under the railway line will also be recorded.
Railway coordinator Sushil Wadekar stated that the target is to complete the survey in Madhya Pradesh by December. Only after the survey will it be determined how much land from each village will be included in the railway line. A preliminary survey has determined which villages the rail line will pass through.
18 villages in Mhow tehsil include: Khedi Murar, Kadampur, Khudalpura, Kurada Khedi, Nanded, Jamli, Berchha, Khedi, Gawli Palasia, Ahilyapur, Chenpura, Ashapur, Malendi, Kodaria, Borkhedi, Chouradia, New Guradia, Kailod, and the urban area of Mhow.
Connectivity for Tribal Areas
The construction of this rail line will provide improved connectivity to the tribal areas of Dhar, Khargone, and Barwani districts. Approximately 3.5 million people will benefit from the commuting of rail services. The distance from Indore to Mumbai will also be reduced, making travel easier. Currently, to reach Mumbai, one has to travel via Ujjain, Ratlam, and Baroda. However, this new rail line will reduce the travel distance by approximately 300 km.
