Indore police plan traffic diversions: Roads from Lantern to Janjeerwala and nearby junctions closed for vehicles

The Indore traffic police have announced a special traffic and parking arrangement ahead of the Women’s International World Cup One-Day match between South Africa and New Zealand, to be played today at Holkar Stadium. The traffic diversions will come into effect from 1:00 pm until the end of the match, with restrictions in and around the stadium.

The police have appealed to citizens to avoid using roads near Palasia, Ghantaghar, High Court, Regal Square, Malwa Mill, Lantern Square, and Geeta Bhawan during match hours. Commuters are advised to use city buses and public transport, as parking near the stadium is limited.

The traffic department stated that diversions may be adjusted depending on the crowd and traffic pressure. Citizens have been urged to cooperate with police, use alternative routes, and follow traffic rules for smooth movement and safety.

Entry routes

· Spectators arriving from Hukumchand Ghantaghar and Pancham ki Phel will enter through Janjeerwala Square.

· Those coming from the Lantern Square side will be allowed to proceed only on foot towards the stadium.

Restrictions for vehicles

· Only pass-holding vehicles will be allowed to enter near the stadium.

· Pass-holder vehicles for Vivekananda School and Basketball Complex parking must enter from the Ghantaghar side.

· Abhay Prashal and ITC parking pass vehicles can enter via Lantern Square/Yeshwant Club Road.

· Non-pass vehicles must park at Bal Vinay Mandir School, SGSITS campus, and Pancham ki Phel ground, on a first-come, first-park basis.

Road closures

· The road from Lantern Square to Janjeerwala Square will remain closed for all vehicles except pass-holders and emergency vehicles, from 1:00 pm till the match ends.

· Loading vehicles will be strictly prohibited on MG Road, Racecourse Road, Bhandari Bridge, and Rajkumar Bridge circles.

Diversion plan

· From Regal Square, vehicles (except city buses and emergency services) will be diverted towards Madhumilan.

· Traffic from Geeta Bhawan to Ghantaghar will be routed via Dhakkanwala Kuan to Shri Maya/Madhumilan.

· Vehicles from Vijay Nagar via Industry House and Rajkumar Bridge heading to Marimata can take the route through LIG Square, Patnipura, Pardeshipura, and Subhash Nagar.

· Those heading from Regal Square to Palasia can use the White Church–AB Road route.

· From Malwa Mill to Janjeerwala or Industry House, drivers can take the Patnipura–LIG Square–AB Road route.

Pass Holder Parking: Yeshwant Club, Abhay Prashal, ITC Complex, Basketball Complex, Vivekananda School, IDA Complex. General Parking: Bal Vinay Mandir School, SGSITS Campus, Pancham ki Phel Ground (first-come, first-park).
