Khairi Wali Mata: Temple of Divine Forms Built by Datia Maharaja

Khairi Wali Mata Temple, built by the Maharaja of Datia, holds immense spiritual significance. The goddess is believed to appear in three divine forms, attracting devotees from afar.

In addition to Maa Pitambara Peeth, there is another famous place in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh, known as Khairi Wali Mata. This goddess is also famous for changing her form three times a day. Devotees flock to this temple during Navratri.

History of the Temple
Datia in Madhya Pradesh is known as the "City of Mother Goddess." The Khairi Wali Mata Temple is also a famous place. This temple was built by Maharaja Veer Singh Ju Dev of Datia in the year 1658. At that time, there was a vast forest of Khair trees here. Therefore, this goddess is called Khairi Wali Mata. Within this forest is a huge hill known as Khairagarh.
It is said that the King of Datia had a dream in which the Mother Goddess appeared in Sankua, located in Seondha. When the King reached Sankua, he found the idol of the Mother Goddess. When the king brought the idol to Datia via elephants and horses and tried to place it in his palace, the goddess appeared in his dream, promising to reinstall it in Khairagarh. The king then installed it at the Khairi Temple.

Different Darshans in the Morning, Afternoon, and Evening
This goddess is also famous for changing her form three times a day. In the morning, she appears as a child, in the afternoon as a youth, and in the evening as an old woman. One can reach her court after climbing more than 50 stairs. During the holy festival of Navratri, 50,000 to 60,000 devotees arrive here for darshan. Devotees from Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh also come in large numbers.

Every Wish is Fulfilled
Temple priest Mahesh Tiwari explained that the glory of Kheeri Mata is immeasurable. During Navratri, the goddess fulfills every wish of the devotees who come here. Siya Malviya, who came to visit from Khandwa, said that during the Sau Veeri Ek Kheeri Navratri, the Mother Goddess appears in many forms and fulfils every wish. Devotees at the temple said that whatever is asked from the Mother Goddess with a true heart, she fulfils every wish. Devotees also say that a huge feast is organised here on Saptami. Let us tell you that this Kheeri Mata temple lies between the borders of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. It is located at a distance of about 7 kilometres from Datia.
