Mohan Parashar from Sehore Wins Gold Medal in Masters Weightlifting in Surat

Mohan Parashar, 65, resident of Bilkisganj in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh, delivered a brilliant performance by winning the gold medal at the 4th Masters Weightlifting Competition held in Surat, Gujarat. Competing in the 88 kg weight category, he lifted 132 kg, bringing pride to the state.
Long Sports Journey with Many National and International Medals
Mohan Parashar began weightlifting at the age of 13. He was state champion consecutively from 1978 to 1982. In 2021, he also won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Masters Weightlifting Championship held in Australia. Last year, at the World Championship in Greece, he lifted 148 kg and earned the gold medal.
Participation in USA and New Zealand Competitions Planned
Now, Mohan Parashar is preparing for the World Championship in the USA this September and the Masters Weightlifting competition in New Zealand. He trains hard for six hours daily and coaches young athletes in two shifts at his gym.
