Madhya Pradesh has shut its six major tiger reserves—Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Pench, Satpura, Panna, and Sanjay-Dubri—and associated national parks to tourists from July 1 to October 1. The closure is due to the monsoon season, a critical time when tigers mate and require undisturbed habitats. Moreover, core zone trails become hazardous as roads turn muddy and risky. However, safari tours in designated buffer zones will continue as usual

Actually, all the National Parks and Tiger Reserves of the state will remain closed for three months. This decision has been taken due to the monsoon becoming active and heavy rains. During this time, tourists will be able to enjoy only the buffer zone.
Permission to roam in the buffer zone
The monsoon has become fully active in Madhya Pradesh. In view of this, the National Tiger Reserve has been closed. Tourists will be allowed to roam only in the buffer zone. The core zone has been closed.
Will remain closed till October
All National Park Tiger Reserves in MP will remain closed till October. Tourists will be able to enjoy safari only in the buffer zone in the National Park. Tigers can become violent during mating during the rainy days, so the National Park has been closed.
