The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has issued a revised timetable for the 2026 Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, altering the dates of several key subjects, including Hindi and other language papers. The board said the changes were made to streamline the examination process and avoid scheduling conflicts.
Under the updated schedule, the Class 12 board examinations will now begin on February 10, 2026. While the overall examination window remains unchanged, MPBSE has shifted the dates of select subjects to ensure smoother conduct across examination centres statewide.
According to the revised timetable, the Class 10 Hindi examination, which was earlier scheduled for February 11, will now be held on March 6, 2026. For Class 12 students, the Urdu and Marathi examinations, earlier fixed for February 9, have also been rescheduled to March 6. The Class 12 Hindi paper, originally slated for February 7, will now take place on March 7, 2026.
The board clarified that all examinations will continue to be conducted in a single morning shift, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, across the state. Admit cards already issued will remain valid, with students required to refer only to the updated date sheet for subject-wise changes.
MPBSE has directed all affiliated schools to immediately inform students and parents about the revised schedule. Schools have been instructed to circulate the updated timetable through notice boards, morning assemblies, and official parent communication groups to prevent confusion and last-minute disruptions.
A senior board official said the revision was carried out after reviewing logistical requirements and representations from schools. “The objective is to ensure that students get adequate preparation time and that examinations are conducted without overlaps or administrative difficulties,” the official said.
The revised schedule is particularly significant for students preparing for language papers, as the shift provides additional preparation time ahead of exams scheduled in early March. Education experts said timely communication would be crucial to ensure that students adjust their study plans accordingly.
Students have been advised to download the complete revised timetable from the official MPBSE website and verify their subject dates carefully. The board has also asked students to stay in touch with their schools for any further updates or clarifications.
With less than a month remaining before the start of the Class 12 examinations, MPBSE has urged candidates to focus on preparation and avoid confusion by relying only on official notifications. The board said no further changes are planned unless necessitated by unforeseen circumstances.
