Nationwide Strike Today: Trade Unions and Bank Employees to Protest in Bhopal

Trade unions and bank employees across the country are observing a nationwide strike today. In Bhopal, large-scale protests are planned to raise demands on labor rights and economic issues. Public services may be affected.
Today, a nationwide general strike is being held across the country on the call of central labor organizations and independent trade unions. About 25 crore employees and workers from bank employees, postal employees, transport, coal mining, construction, and other sectors are involved in this strike. The main objective of the strike is to protest against the alleged anti-people and anti-labor policies of the central government and to resolve the 17-point demands. The strike will also have a wide impact in Bhopal, where members of labor organizations will organize joint demonstrations, rallies, and meetings.
Banking services, post offices, and other public services likely to remain stalled in Bhopal.
Members of the striking organizations will gather in front of the Punjab National Bank (formerly Oriental Bank of Commerce) branch located at Hoshangabad Road, Bhopal, opposite Indira Press Complex (IPC), Postal Bhawan, at 10:30 am. A joint demonstration, rally, and meeting will be organized from 11 am. During this time, labor organizations will take to the streets with their 17-point demands and raise slogans against the government.
Banking services, post offices, and other public services are likely to come to a standstill in Bhopal due to the strike. Though railway unions have decided not to join the strike, they have extended moral support.
