MP Police Recruitment 2026: 9,662 Vacancies Approved, ESB Notification Soon

The MP Police Recruitment 2026 drive has been approved for 9,662 posts, including 8,500 constable vacancies, with the Employees Selection Board (ESB) set to release the detailed notification soon.

In a major boost for government job aspirants, the Madhya Pradesh government has approved 9,662 vacancies in the state police department under the MP Police Recruitment 2026 drive. The recruitment includes 8,500 constable posts along with Sub-Inspector, Subedar, and stenographer cadre positions. The Employees Selection Board (ESB) will issue the detailed recruitment notification, outlining eligibility criteria, application dates, examination pattern, and the selection process.

The decision comes shortly after Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav directed officials to expedite the recruitment process and fill vacant positions in the police force. The move is expected to strengthen law enforcement while creating significant employment opportunities for youth across the state.

Government Approves Recruitment

The Home Department has granted administrative approval for recruitment to 9,662 police posts through four separate government orders.

The vacancies cover multiple categories within the police department, with the majority allocated to constable-level positions. Officials said the recruitment process would now move to the implementation stage through ESB.

Vacancy Breakdown

According to the approved recruitment plan, the vacancies include:

  • 7,500 Constable (General Duty) posts
  • 1,000 Constable (Driver) posts
  • 655 Stenographer Cadre posts
  • 507 Subedar and Sub-Inspector posts

These recruitments are aimed at filling long-pending vacancies and enhancing operational strength across police units in Madhya Pradesh.

ESB To Issue Notification

The Employees Selection Board (ESB) will release the official recruitment notification in the coming days.

The notification is expected to include complete details regarding online applications, educational qualifications, age criteria, reservation policy, examination syllabus, physical standards, selection stages, and important dates.

Candidates have been advised to wait for the official notification before relying on unofficial information circulating online.

CM Reviews Recruitment

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav recently chaired a review meeting at the Police Headquarters (PHQ), where senior officials were instructed to speed up recruitment and promotion processes within the department.

The Chief Minister also emphasised the need to strengthen policing by ensuring that vacant posts are filled without unnecessary delays.

Target Of 18,000 Posts

The state government has announced a broader target of recruiting 18,000 personnel into the police department over the coming months.

With approval now granted for 9,662 posts, the remaining vacancies are expected to receive administrative clearance in subsequent phases. Officials indicated that further recruitment orders are likely to be issued soon as part of the government's workforce expansion plan.

Recent Recruitment Updates

The latest announcement follows the declaration of the final results for the Subedar (Stenographer) and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Recruitment Examination 2025 conducted by ESB.

A total of 438 candidates were selected against 500 advertised posts, while results for some reserved vacancies remain pending in compliance with court directions concerning reservation-related matters.
