MP Vyapam scam: CBI court found 11 people guilty, sentenced the accused to 3 years of imprisonment, also imposed a fine of 16 thousand rupees
Bhopal. Bhopal CBI's special court gave a big verdict on Friday in the much talked about Vyapam scam of Madhya Pradesh. 11 accused who were selected fraudulently in MP PMT-2009 examination were held guilty. The court of Special Judge Sachin Kumar Ghosh has sentenced all of them to three years of imprisonment and a fine of 16 thousand rupees each.
Conspiracy to get admission with the help of fake candidates and solvers
This case is related to the MBBS entrance examination of the year 2009 in Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal, in which a conspiracy was hatched to get admission with the help of fake candidates and solvers. Among these were four candidates Vikas Singh, Kapil Parte, Dilip Chauhan, Praveen Kumar, who had given the exam for medical entrance through solvers. There were five solvers Nagendra Kumar, Dinesh Sharma, Sanjeev Pandey, Rakesh Sharma, Deepak Thakur who appeared in the exam in place of the real candidates, while a middleman Satyendra Singh was running this entire network.
After the case was exposed, an FIR was registered in 2012 in Kohefiza police station of Bhopal. The CBI special court has convicted the accused under sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 and Prevention of Corruption Act. While giving the verdict, the court commented that such fraud in a serious field like education and medicine is dangerous for the society and it cannot be tolerated in any form. Vyapam scam is a well-known fraud in Madhya Pradesh. There was a large-scale scam in it, in which fake candidates appeared in the exams in place of the candidates in many recruitment exams conducted by the government. After the fraud came to light, many officials and leaders were affected.
