Name of MP's Oldest Vikram University to Be Changed to 'Samrat Vikramaditya University'

The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to rename the state's oldest educational institution, Vikram University, as 'Samrat Vikramaditya University' to honor the legendary emperor. The move is part of a broader initiative to revive cultural heritage.
The name of Vikram University located in Ujjain, one of the oldest universities in Madhya Pradesh, is now going to change. This university will now be known as 'Samrat Vikramaditya University'. For this, the University and Rajiv Gandhi Technology University Amendment Bill will be presented in the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly starting from July 28.
Let us tell you that Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav had announced this in the 29th convocation of the university. This university is already established in the name of Emperor Vikramaditya, but now its name will more clearly underline Emperor Vikramaditya.
Located in Ujjain, one of the seven holy cities of India, this university was established in 1957 and is one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Madhya Pradesh. The two oldest universities in the state include Vikram University of Ujjain and Dr. Harisingh Gaur University of Sagar.
