Dewas Tour Cancelled After Assurance to Tribal Commission

The commission expressed satisfaction with the steps taken for the welfare of the tribal community in Dewas. After meeting CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, Antar Singh Arya cancelled his Dewas tour following the assurance.
National Scheduled Tribes Commission Chairman Antar Singh Arya met Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Monday. The CM apprised Arya of the developments in Dewas district and the steps taken by the state government. Arya said that satisfied with the Chief Minister's assurance, he is cancelling his proposed visit to Dewas district on July.
The Commission's National President Antar Singh Arya said that the Commission had taken cognizance of the incident of demolition of houses of tribal people in Dewas district. Keeping this in mind, he came to Madhya Pradesh from New Delhi and met Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav in this regard. He said that after detailed discussion on the incident, I am satisfied that sensitive and appropriate action has been taken in this regard.
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah and senior officer Laxman Singh Markam were sent to Dewas district. CM Dr Mohan and the government have accepted all the necessary suggestions. It has also been agreed that various parties will take care to ensure that no such incident happens in future. The Chief Minister has assured that the interest of the tribal class will be ensured.
