A heartbreaking and inhumane incident has come to light at Madhya Bharat Hospital in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, where a newborn baby was mauled and eaten by stray dogs after being born in a toilet and abandoned by the mother. When attendants of patients went to use the restroom in the morning, they discovered the infant's mutilated body. The gruesome scene left everyone in shock.
Born in Toilet Late at Night
Kotwali Police Station in-charge Rahul Sharma reported that the incident occurred around 2:30 AM on Friday night. A young woman gave birth to a baby girl in the hospital’s toilet and fled the hospital without informing anyone. The newborn, left unattended, became prey to stray dogs.
Horrific Scene Unfolded in the Morning
On Saturday morning, when relatives of admitted patients entered the restroom, they saw dogs feeding on the infant's body. A female security guard on duty acted quickly, chased away the dogs, and informed the hospital authorities. Hospital in-charge H.R. Verma said that by the time the body was recovered, the upper part was completely missing.
Police Investigation Underway, Search for the Mother
After being notified, the Kotwali police reached the scene and sent the body for post-mortem. Efforts are now underway to identify the mother and determine why she committed such a cruel act. CCTV footage from the hospital is being reviewed to help trace the woman.
Hospital Negligence Under Scrutiny
The incident has raised serious questions about the hospital’s security arrangements. The fact that stray dogs could enter the hospital premises and cause such a tragedy highlights a significant administrative lapse.
