Ratlam Student Suicide: Six Accused Including Three Siblings Face Charges in Blackmail Case

A tragic case has emerged from Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, where a 14-year-old Class 10 student, Rudra Chauhan, died by suicide on September 26, 2025, after allegedly being beaten, harassed, and blackmailed with a nude video. Police have registered a case against six accused, including three siblings, seven days after the incident.

Case Details and Investigation

The Ringnod police registered the case under sections 107, 127(2), 115(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the accused: Harsh alias Lucky Chauhan, Sumit Chauhan, Anurag Chauhan, his brother Chirag, sister Neha, and Krish - all residents of village Dhodhar Banchda Dera.

According to family allegations, Rudra had gone to meet a girl named Chanchal on September 25 along with two minor friends. The accused allegedly beat him, took him to Neha's house, removed his clothes, and recorded a video while threatening to make it viral.

Sequence of Events

Family members reported that when Rudra's elder brother attempted to rescue him, the accused refused to release him and threatened to kill him. Later, they reportedly took Rudra by car to village Parwaliya and abandoned him there. The distressed teenager returned home and recounted the incident to his brother before taking his own life the next day.

Police Action and Family Demands

The family criticized the initial police response and approached Ratlam SP Amit Kumar on October 3, carrying Rudra's photograph and banners demanding justice. They called for the removal of the police post in-charge and senior officer investigation.

The accused remain at large as police continue their search. This case highlights growing concerns about student harassment and cyberbullying in Madhya Pradesh, emphasizing the urgent need for better protection mechanisms for young students facing such traumatic situations.
