A registration scam was exposed during an RTO raid at an automobile showroom. Authorities have given a 7-day ultimatum to deposit the pending amount.
The new District Transport Officer (RTO) finally noticed the long-running registration scam in the district. During the surprise inspection, the RTO matched the sales and registration records, and a scam worth crores came to light. It is estimated that the government has not received more than Rs 5 crore. The RTO has issued a notice to all the showrooms and directed them to deposit the outstanding amount within 7 days. Due to which there is panic among the vehicle showroom operators of the entire district.
Shocking figures came to light
Actually, the transport scam worth crores of rupees being done by vehicle sellers in the district was exposed when RTO Anpa Khan scrutinized the documents and shocking figures came to light. Auto mobile showroom operators had been collecting registration fees from consumers for months, but that amount was not being deposited in the RTO office. The payment of registration fees in the RTO was found to be very low in proportion to the sale of vehicles. The investigation revealed that vehicle showrooms take the total payment from the customer.
