Robber Who Targeted Indore Veterinary Doctor Arrested in Punjab

Police have arrested the key suspect involved in the kidnapping and robbery of an Indore-based veterinary doctor, solving a case that began when the victim was found unconscious in Gujarat earlier this month. The accused, identified as Aman, a resident of Mohali in Punjab, was detained by the Vadodara Crime Branch after investigators traced his movements through mobile data, ATM footage and app records.

The victim, Dr. Hari Singh Raghuvanshi, 50, had gone missing during a road trip from Indore to Vadodara on November 3. He was discovered in a disoriented condition two days later in Anand, Gujarat. After regaining consciousness, the doctor told Indore police that he had been drugged, kidnapped and robbed while travelling with a man who had contacted him through a travel app.

According to TI Taresh Soni, the doctor had posted his travel plan on the app, after which Aman reached out claiming he was also heading to Gujarat. Introducing himself as an employee of an Ayurvedic company, the suspect met the doctor at Vijaynagar Circle, and the two began their journey early on November 5.

Investigators said the accused kept his face covered with a monkey cap and mask throughout the drive. To gain the doctor’s trust, he even spoke in Punjabi with the doctor’s friend on the phone. Near the Godhra bypass, Aman allegedly offered the doctor a cold drink laced with sedatives. The doctor consumed a few sips, felt dizzy and soon lost consciousness. Aman then took over the vehicle and withdrew nearly ₹3 lakh from the doctor’s debit and credit cards before abandoning him.

Hours later, the doctor awoke to find his car being towed by municipal workers, with his family at the scene. Following his statement, Indore police registered an FIR for kidnapping and robbery.

Aman will be brought to Lasudia police station on a production warrant. Additional DCP Crime Rajesh Dandotiya said the accused had planned the crime meticulously and fled after incapacitating the doctor.
