A 30-year-old woman allegedly slit her wrist following a domestic dispute with her sister-in-law and an argument with her husband in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district. She is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital, while police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
The incident took place in the JP area, where the woman's family resides.
Argument Escalated at Home
According to police, the woman, identified as Nidhi Agnihotri, a resident of Duari village in Gudh, currently lives with her husband Yogendra Agnihotri in the JP area due to his employment.
Family members said Nidhi reportedly had an argument with her sister-in-law over a personal matter. During the altercation, she allegedly broke her mobile phone.
Woman Injured After Husband's Reprimand
Relatives said her husband later reprimanded her for damaging the phone. Following the argument, the woman allegedly used a sharp object to slit her wrist inside the house.
After noticing the injury, family members rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she remains under medical treatment.
Police Begin Inquiry
Doctors informed the police about the incident, following which a case was registered for inquiry. Police officials said the woman's condition is currently stable, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
Authorities are also recording statements from family members to ascertain the exact sequence of events.
