A fresh political deadlock has emerged in Mumbai following the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, as the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena seeks a 2.5-year mayoral term despite the BJP emerging as the single largest party. In a strategic move, Eknath Shinde shifted all 29 newly elected corporators to the Taj Lands End hotel in Bandra, where strict security has been deployed to prevent horse-trading.
