The Chhattisgarh High Court has expressed strong displeasure over the state government’s continued reliance on contractual appointments at the state’s only mental hospital and the absence of a clear timeline for regular recruitment. Hearing a public interest litigation on alleged mismanagement at the mental hospital in Sakri, Bilaspur, the court directed the Health and Family Welfare Secretary to file a fresh affidavit by March 24 detailing when permanent appointments would be completed.
