‘Border 2’ Box Office Hits ₹22.50 Crore on Day 10, Surpasses ‘Pathaan’ and ‘KGF 2’

Sunny Deol’s Border 2 continues its record-breaking run at the Indian box office, earning ₹22.50 crore on its tenth day, according to Sacnilk. The film, which released 10 days ago, has now amassed a total domestic collection of ₹275.25 crore, while its worldwide earnings stand at ₹372 crore.

The film, a sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Border, stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in leading roles. Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, the film has been lauded for its patriotic themes and star-studded ensemble cast.

Border 2 has demonstrated strong box office traction since its release. Its daily collections are as follows: Day 1 – ₹30 crore, Day 2 – ₹36.5 crore, Day 3 – ₹54.5 crore, Day 4 – ₹59 crore, Day 5 – ₹20 crore, Day 6 – ₹13 crore, Day 7 – ₹11.25 crore, Day 8 – ₹10.75 crore, Day 9 – ₹17.75 crore, and Day 10 – ₹22.50 crore.

Sunny Deol celebrated the milestone with his team in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, cutting a cake that read “Badhai Ho Border 2.” The actor expressed his delight over the overwhelming audience response and the film’s continued success.

The film’s performance has notably surpassed other high-profile releases. On its tenth day, Border 2 outperformed Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Yash’s KGF 2 in Hindi collections. Pathaan, which released on January 25, 2023, earned ₹14 crore across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions, with ₹13.5 crore from Hindi alone. KGF 2 collected ₹18.25 crore in Hindi on its tenth day.

Box office analysts attribute the success to a combination of nostalgia for the original Border, strong performances, patriotic appeal, and strategic release timing. The sequel’s ability to sustain high weekend collections and weekday stability reflects its resonance with audiences across India.

With its current trajectory, Border 2 is poised to enter the ₹400-crore club worldwide and may set new benchmarks for sequels in the Indian film industry. Producers are optimistic that continued word-of-mouth and international screenings will further boost collections in the coming weeks.
