Amitabh Bachchan’s Granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda Joins ₹40,000-Crore Empire, Says ‘No’ to Films Despite Friends’ Jokes

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda has officially stepped into her family’s business empire worth ₹40,000 crore, choosing a corporate path over cinema.
While her brother Agastya Nanda recently made his Bollywood debut, Navya has followed in the footsteps of her father Nikhil Nanda, the Chairman and Managing Director of Escorts Kubota Limited, one of India’s leading engineering conglomerates.
Despite coming from a family deeply rooted in cinema — from grandparents Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan to uncle Abhishek and aunt Aishwarya Rai Bachchan — Navya decided early on that the film industry wasn’t for her. “I never wanted to limit myself to one profession. I’m an entrepreneur, and that’s what I’m passionate about,” she said in a recent interview.
Navya, who is 27 years old, holds a 0.02% stake in Escorts Kubota, valued at approximately ₹7 crore. Before formally entering the business, she underwent three and a half years of training to understand the ground realities of the industry.
“I grew up around tractors. I’ve assembled them, worked in workshops — that’s what I saw throughout my childhood. My friends often made fun of me for being obsessed with tractors, but it’s something I genuinely enjoy,” she said with a smile.
The young entrepreneur also balances her corporate life with her global exposure — from assembling machinery in Delhi to walking the ramp for L’Oréal in Paris. She believes in starting from scratch and earning her place, rather than relying on legacy. “I think everyone should start from the beginning. I still have a long way to go, but I’m proud to carry forward the vision my great-grandfather built,” Navya added.
Her journey stands as a refreshing example of individuality in a family synonymous with stardom, proving that success doesn’t always come from the spotlight — sometimes, it comes from building something meaningful behind it.
