Giving Pakistani Artists a Platform Is Wrong: BJP-Backed Film Workers’ Union Opposes Sardaar Ji 3
The BJP Chitrapat Kamgar Aghadi, a film workers' union affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party, has expressed serious concern over the inclusion of Pakistani actors in the upcoming Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3. Citing ongoing geopolitical tensions and anti-India statements made by certain Pakistani celebrities, the organization has demanded a ban on the film's release.
The union is particularly upset over social media comments made in response to India’s recent Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam attack, stating that including Pakistani artists in Indian cinema is against national sentiment and pride.
Firm Opposition to Collaborating with Pakistani Artists
In a strong statement, the union said:
"We strongly oppose the involvement of any Pakistani artist in Indian cinema. We urge the censor board not to grant certification to Sardaar Ji 3. This is not just a political issue—it is a matter of national sentiment and dignity."
The union further stated that featuring Pakistani actors in Indian films is an insult to the sacrifices of the armed forces.
"Pakistan has openly declared India as its enemy, and yet we continue to open doors to their artists. This is unacceptable. As representatives of Indian film industry workers and technicians, we cannot remain silent, nor can we allow this to happen," the statement concluded.
