Fraud case against Shilpa-Raj?

In August, Mumbai businessman Deepak Kothari filed a complaint against Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra alleging fraud of 60 crore rupees. According to Deepak Kothari, he met Shilpa and Kundra in 2015 through agent Rajesh Arya. At that time, both were directors of Best Deal TV and Shilpa owned more than 87% shares of the company.

It was decided that Deepak would give a loan to Shilpa and Raj Kundra's company. They had asked for a loan of ₹75 crore rupees for the company, with 12% annual interest agreed upon.

Deepak Kothari alleges that later Shilpa and Kundra told him that there could be tax issues with the loan, so they would show it as an investment and give monthly returns. In April 2015, Kothari made the first payment of about ₹31.95 crore rupees. When tax-related issues continued, a second deal was made in September and between July 2015 and March 2016, he transferred another ₹28.54 crore rupees.

In total, they gave Rs 60.48 crore, along with ₹3.19 lakh paid as stamp duty. Kothari claims that in April 2016, Shilpa gave him a personal guarantee, but in September of the same year, she resigned from the position of company director.

After this, a case emerged of Shilpa's company not repaying a loan of ₹1.28 crore. Kothari had no knowledge of this. He requested his money back several times but received no response or money.
