Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath Booked in Alleged Fraud Case: Complaint Filed by Baghpat Resident Against 24 People
Digital Desk
A case of alleged fraud has been registered against Bollywood actors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath, along with 22 others, in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. The case relates to their reported association with the Loni Urban Multi-State Credit and Thrift Cooperative Society, where the two actors had served as brand ambassadors.
According to the complaint filed by Babli, a local resident, the accused are alleged to have misled investors by promoting the society, which promised high returns on investments. The FIR was lodged at the city police station.
Reports suggest that the cooperative society, operating under the name The Loni Urban Multistate Credit and Thrift Cooperative Society Limited, lured villagers with assurances that their money would double in a short time. After collecting crores of rupees, the company allegedly shut down operations and vanished, leaving investors defrauded.
Earlier, in July this year, the Supreme Court granted interim protection from arrest to Shreyas Talpade in connection with the case. Both Talpade and Nath, along with several others, were previously named in a similar multi-level marketing fraud case registered in Sonipat, Haryana.
