LG Electronics India Expands Premium Appliance Line-Up, Eyes Exports to 22 Countries

LG Electronics India has expanded its home appliances portfolio with new French Door refrigerators, AI-powered washing machines and an upgraded Essential Series range, while also scaling exports under its Make-in-India strategy.

The company said the new 2026 line-up will target both affordable-premium and high-end consumers, with products now set to be exported to 22 countries across Asia, the Middle East and Africa during the year.

Focus on Indian Homes

LG Electronics India on Wednesday unveiled its expanded 2026 home appliances portfolio in Noida, adding new refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, water purifiers and cooking appliances across price segments.

The launch comes as appliance makers continue to push premiumisation in urban markets while also expanding penetration in smaller cities and middle-income households. LG said the latest portfolio has been developed around Indian usage conditions, including power fluctuations, hard water, humidity and space constraints.

The company has also widened its affordable-premium “Essential Series”, first introduced in October 2025, with additional capacities, colours and product variants.

Export Push Gains Pace

A key announcement during the launch was the company’s growing export focus from India-based manufacturing facilities.

According to company officials, exports of the Essential Series began in the first quarter of 2026 and are expected to expand to 22 countries by the end of the year. The export basket includes refrigerators, washing machines and residential air conditioners.

LG Electronics India Managing Director Hong Ju Jeon said India remains a strategic market for the company’s long-term growth plans.

He noted that the company is attempting to balance affordability with premium technology while strengthening the “Make-for-India” and “Make-India-Global” manufacturing approach.

Premium Refrigerator Range

The new premium portfolio is led by LG’s French Door refrigerator range, available in capacities between 574 litres and 610 litres. The company claimed the line-up includes India’s first 33-inch French Door refrigerator with an Auto Ice Maker that does not require a plumbing connection.

The refrigerators feature technologies such as InstaView Door-in-Door, Hygiene Fresh+, Smart Learner adaptive cooling and AI ThinQ Wi-Fi connectivity. Prices for the range begin at ₹1.18 lakh.

LG has also expanded its Side-by-Side refrigerator portfolio up to 790 litres, alongside the launch of a 674-litre double-door refrigerator positioned as the company’s largest in that category.

AI Washing Machines Introduced

The washing machine portfolio saw one of the biggest expansions in the new line-up.

LG introduced AI DD 2.0-enabled front-load washing machines under the NT, VX and GVX series, starting from 12kg capacity. The machines use artificial intelligence to detect fabric type, load weight and soil levels before optimising wash cycles automatically.

Features such as Steam+, Pet Care cycles and Microplastic Care have also been added, reflecting increasing consumer demand for hygiene-focused and sustainability-led appliances.

In the mid-segment category, the company expanded its TX top-load washing machine range with features aimed at Indian conditions, including Hard Water Wash and Turbo Spin.

The Essential Series top-load washing machines, available from 8kg to 10kg capacities, include low-pressure water fill systems and intelligent auto restart during power cuts.

Dishwashers, Ovens Added

LG also expanded its dishwasher and cooking appliance categories amid rising demand from urban consumers.

The company introduced its 15-place-setting TrueSteam dishwasher, designed for Indian utensils and heavy oil-based cooking. According to internal tests cited by the company, the appliance can accommodate up to 92 Indian utensils, including large cookware items.

In the cooking segment, the Essential Series now includes new convertible convection microwave ovens with air-fry functionality and over 330 preset cooking menus.

Retail Availability Begins

The newly launched appliances are now available across LG brand stores, multi-brand retail outlets and major e-commerce platforms across India.

Entry-level pricing for the Essential Series refrigerators starts at ₹25,500, while semi-automatic washing machines begin at ₹17,300. Water purifiers start at ₹16,600.

Industry analysts say the launch reflects a broader shift in India’s consumer durable market, where companies are increasingly combining localisation, smart features and premium design to drive growth in a slowing but competitive appliance sector.

With the expanded LG Electronics India appliance portfolio, the company appears to be betting heavily on both domestic consumption and export-led manufacturing growth in 2026.
