The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) are set to release the RRB Group D Exam City Details 2026 for candidates appearing in the Level-1 recruitment examination under CEN 09/2025. The Computer-Based Test (CBT-1) will be conducted from August 3 to August 21, 2026 for 22,195 vacancies. Candidates will be able to check their allotted exam city by logging into the official RRB portal using their registration credentials.
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) are expected to activate the Exam City Intimation Slip link shortly for candidates appearing in the RRB Group D (Level-1) Recruitment Examination 2026. The city intimation slip will allow applicants to know the city where their examination centre has been allotted ahead of the release of the admit card.
The recruitment drive, being conducted under Advertisement No. CEN 09/2025, aims to fill 22,195 Group D vacancies across various railway zones in the country. The online application process was conducted between January 31 and March 9, 2026, with the registration deadline extended to accommodate more applicants.
According to the examination schedule released by the Railway Recruitment Boards, the Computer-Based Test (CBT-1) will be held from August 3 to August 21, 2026 in multiple shifts at examination centres across India. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website of their respective RRBs for updates regarding the release of the exam city slip and admit card.
Once the Exam City Details are made available, candidates can log in using their Registration Number or Enrollment Number along with their Date of Birth or Password. The city intimation slip will mention the allotted examination city, exam date and shift details. However, it will not serve as the admit card. The official e-call letter will be released separately a few days before the examination.
The RRB has advised candidates to verify all details mentioned in the exam city slip carefully. Applicants should also plan their travel in advance, especially if the examination city is located outside their home district or state. Reporting time, examination shift and other important instructions will be available on the admit card.
The Group D recruitment examination remains one of the largest recruitment drives conducted by the Indian Railways every year. This year's recruitment will fill vacancies in several Level-1 posts, including Track Maintainer Grade IV, Pointsman-B, Assistant (Track Machine), Assistant (Bridge), Assistant (C&W), Assistant TRD, Assistant (S&T), Assistant TL & AC, Assistant Operations (Electrical), Assistant Loco Shed (Electrical) and Assistant P-Way.
Among these, Track Maintainer Grade IV has the highest number of vacancies with 11,032 posts, followed by Pointsman-B with 5,053 vacancies. The remaining vacancies are distributed among various technical and maintenance departments across different railway zones.
Candidates who have passed Class 10 (High School) from a recognized board or possess a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT are eligible for the recruitment. The prescribed age limit is 18 to 33 years as on January 1, 2026, with age relaxation available for reserved category candidates as per government norms.
The selection process consists of multiple stages, beginning with the Computer-Based Test (CBT-1). Candidates qualifying the written examination will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by Document Verification and a Medical Examination before final appointment.
Applicants are also advised to keep all original documents, including educational certificates, Aadhaar card, category certificate (if applicable), disability certificate, bank account details and other supporting documents ready for the verification process.
