The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has launched a major recruitment drive for Sub-Inspector positions in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Delhi Police, offering 3,073 vacancies with attractive salary packages reaching up to Rs.1.12 lakh per month. Vacancy Distribution and Key Details

The recruitment encompasses 2,861 positions for CAPF Sub-Inspector (General Duty) and 212 positions for Delhi Police Sub-Inspector (Executive), with the latter split into 142 male and 70 female positions. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) leads with 1,294 vacancies, followed by CRPF with 1,029 positions, BSF with 223 posts, ITBP with 233 positions, and SSB with 82 vacancies.

Candidates must apply exclusively through the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in. The application requires One-Time Registration (OTR), Aadhaar authentication, and real-time photograph capture.

Eligibility Requirements

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree from any recognized university. Male candidates applying for Delhi Police SI must possess a valid driving license for light motor vehicles (motorcycle and car).

Age Criteria: Between 20-25 years as of August 1, 2025, with relaxations of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 3 years for ex-servicemen.

Physical Standards:

For Male Candidates:

  • General Category: Height 170 cm, Chest 80-85 cm with 5 cm expansion

  • Hill Areas/Special Categories: Height 165 cm

  • Scheduled Tribes: Height 162.5 cm, Chest 77-82 cm

For Female Candidates:

  • General Category: Height 157 cm

  • Hill Areas/Special Categories: Height 155 cm

  • Scheduled Tribes: Height 154 cm

Examination Structure and Pattern

The selection process involves multiple stages including Computer-Based Tests, Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Endurance Test (PET), and Medical Examination.

Paper-1 (Tier-1) Pattern:

  • Total Questions: 200 (50 each from 4 sections)

  • Subjects: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension

  • Duration: 2 hours with sectional timing of 30 minutes per section

  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer

Paper-2 (Tier-2): Exclusively focuses on English Language and Comprehension with 200 questions carrying 200 marks in 2 hours.

Physical Endurance Test Requirements:

  • Male: 100m race in 16 seconds, 1.6 km run in 6.5 minutes, Long Jump 3.65m, High Jump 1.2m, Shot Put 4.5m

  • Female: 100m race in 18 seconds, 800m run in 4 minutes, Long Jump 2.7m, High Jump 0.9m

Salary Structure and Benefits

The position offers a Level-6 pay scale ranging from Rs.35,400 to Rs.1,12,400 per month. The starting basic salary is Rs.35,400 with a gross salary of approximately Rs.47,496. After deductions, the in-hand salary amounts to approximately Rs.41,231-Rs.50,000 depending on posting location.

Candidates must meet specific medical criteria including vision requirements of 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye. The final medical fitness determination rests with the Medical Board appointed by SSC.
