The provisional key will allow candidates to compare the answers recorded during the examination with the answers considered correct by the testing agency before the final result is prepared.

Exams Covered by NTA

The announcement covers more than the UGC NET examination. NTA said provisional answer keys for the CSIR-NET and the ICAR AIEEA (PG) and AICE (PhD) 2026 examinations will also be published on August 16.

UGC NET June Examination

NTA conducted the UGC NET June 2026 examination over six days between June 22 and June 30, followed by a retest on July 5. The examination assesses eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor appointments and PhD admissions, depending on the candidate's qualification and category.

The official information bulletin had earlier stated that NTA would display recorded responses and provisional answer keys on its website and invite challenges from eligible candidates.
