Actor Randeep Hooda visited flood-hit areas in Assam on Saturday, joining relief operations in Sivasagar where he distributed essential supplies and served meals to displaced families. The actor participated in a humanitarian initiative organised by Global Sikhs, a volunteer-based relief organisation that has been assisting people affected by the devastating floods.

During his visit, Hooda paid obeisance at a local Gurdwara Sahib in Sivasagar and prayed for the safety and well-being of people impacted by the floods before taking part in relief activities.

Serves Meals at Relief Camp

Hooda actively participated in the community kitchen (langar) service, serving food to flood-affected families staying at relief camps. Speaking to ANI during the visit, he said displaced residents from nearby villages had been taking shelter around the Sivasagar railway station.

He noted that volunteers had been preparing and distributing meals daily for the past seven days to ensure affected families received regular food support. Hooda also said he had been associated with Global Sikhs for several years and appreciated the organisation's continued relief efforts during natural disasters.

Appeals for Public Support

The actor urged people across the country to contribute to relief operations in whatever way possible. He encouraged citizens to volunteer directly, offer prayers for affected communities or support credible relief organisations through financial assistance.

His visit comes as several districts in Assam continue to recover from widespread flooding that displaced thousands of residents and damaged homes, roads and agricultural land.

Flood Toll Continues to Rise

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), the floods have claimed 82 lives in the state so far. Relief and rehabilitation operations remain underway in several affected districts, with government agencies and voluntary organisations working together to provide food, shelter and medical assistance.

Bollywood Extends Helping Hand

Randeep Hooda is among several Bollywood personalities who have stepped forward to support Assam's flood relief efforts.

Actor Salman Khan, through his charitable organisation Being Human, launched a multi-phase relief campaign in flood-affected regions. The foundation partnered with local fan clubs to distribute ready-to-eat food packets and other essential supplies during the initial phase of the campaign.

Meanwhile, actor Kartik Aaryan contributed ₹1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma publicly thanked the actor for his financial assistance through a social media post.

Actress Alia Bhatt also expressed concern over the recurring flood crisis in Assam, describing it as a tragedy that returns every year despite repeated warnings. She had announced plans to share information about verified relief organisations to encourage public participation.

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana and his wife Tahira Kashyap also extended financial support by contributing to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Relief Operations Continue

With floodwaters gradually receding in several areas, relief agencies have shifted focus towards rehabilitation while continuing food distribution and emergency assistance. Authorities have urged continued public support as thousands of affected families begin the long process of rebuilding their lives.
