New Delhi: Iran has once again fired dozens of ballistic missiles at Israel. The Israeli military reported that there was no major damage from the attack, as most of the missiles were intercepted mid-air. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has called for a peace deal between Israel and Iran. He also expressed hope that the two arch-enemies will "reach an agreement."
Donald Trump also claimed that he had recently successfully intervened in resolving tensions between India and Pakistan, as well as in ending the conflict between Serbia and Kosovo during his first term. He said, “In the same way, there will soon be peace between Israel and Iran too! Many calls and meetings are happening right now.”
"I Don’t Take Credit for Anything" – Trump
President Trump said, “I do a lot, and I never take credit for anything, but that’s okay—people understand. We will make the Middle East great again.”
Trump’s appeal comes at a time when talks between the U.S. and Iran over the nuclear deal have been canceled. The sixth round of negotiations between the two countries was scheduled for today, Sunday.
Explosions in Tehran, Iraq Activates Air Defense System
Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, five car bomb explosions were reported in Tehran. Iran has blamed Israel for the incident.
Meanwhile, in response to Israeli attacks, Iraq has activated its air defense system.
This move came after a request from Iran. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian appealed to Iraq to prevent Israel from using its airspace and territory to launch attacks on the Islamic Republic.
