The Singapore court has sentenced Natarajan to 2 years and 1 month. Along with this, he has also been ordered to pay a fine of 2000 Singapore dollars (about 1 lakh 37 thousand rupees).

How did the accident happen?

This accident happened on 7 July 2023. 28-year-old Natarajan Mohanraj was driving while looking at the phone. Then he hit the professor's car with his lorry. The collision was so severe that the professor suffered several fractures in his body and was badly trapped in the car.

After the accident, the Singapore Civil Defense Force pulled the professor out of the car after 1 hour of hard work. The professor was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Traffic police had warned

Even before this accident, many complaints of negligence have been registered against Natarajan. In June 2023, the Singapore Traffic Police had issued a warning to Natarajan and ordered him to submit his license by July 25. But, this accident happened before that.

Court banned driving
Even after the accident, Natarajan did not stop driving the lorry. Natarajan's license was canceled. But, despite this, he continued to drive the lorry. In such a situation, the court also said in its decision that now Natarajan will not be able to drive for the rest of his life. Natarajan has been completely banned from driving.
