The announcement came during his virtual address at the ASEAN-India Summit.
PM Modi emphasized India’s steadfast support to ASEAN nations during times of crisis and underscored the rapid expansion of bilateral cooperation. “In light of our increasing engagement in humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, maritime security, and the blue economy, we are declaring 2026 as the ASEAN-India Maritime Cooperation Year,” Modi stated.
