SCO Summit 2025: Putin Praises India-China, Comments on Ukraine Coup

The SCO summit was held in China in which Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the efforts of India and China in resolving the Ukraine crisis. Putin said that the crisis in Ukraine is the result of a Western-backed coup and not an invasion. He described the SCO as important in resolving international issues and emphasized the use of national currencies in trade between member countries.

The SCO summit is being organized in Tianjin city of China. Today is the second and last day of this summit. Russian President Vladimir Putin also addressed the SCO conference.

During his address, the Russian President has praised the efforts of India and China to resolve the Ukraine crisis. He said that he would tell the leaders the details of his Alaska meeting with US President Donald Trump during bilateral meetings.

Gave a big statement on the coup in Ukraine

Along with this, reiterating Russia's stand, President Putin said that the crisis in Ukraine has arisen not as a result of invasion, but as a result of a coup in Kiev supported by Ukraine's Western allies.

He claimed that the consensus reached at the Alaska summit with US President Trump has paved the way for peace in Ukraine. Speaking at the plenary session of the summit held in Tianjin city, Putin said that dialogue within the SCO helps lay the foundation for a new Eurasian security system replacing the old Eurocentric and Euro-Atlantic models.

SCO strives to resolve international issues: Putin

Addressing the member countries in the session, President Putin said that the SCO talks meaningfully on international issues. Along with this, this organization always plays an important role in resolving these issues.

Putin said that national currencies are being widely used in mutual trade agreements between SCO countries. The pace of development of cooperation within the SCO is impressive.

Chinese President gave inaugural address

Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping, while addressing the 25th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO on Monday, called upon the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to maintain fairness and justice.

Xi Jinping said we should promote a correct historical view on World War II, oppose the Cold War mentality, and stop confrontational and bullying practices.
