Trump Issues Tariff Threat: India or Pakistan?

Former US President Donald Trump warned of imposing heavy tariffs, sparking speculation on whether his threat was aimed at India or Pakistan. The statement has created a buzz in international trade circles.

US President Donald Trump has again made a claim regarding the India-Pakistan tension. He said in the cabinet meeting that he stopped a nuclear war between the two countries by talking to PM Modi and Pakistani leaders. Trump forced them to back off by warning them of tariffs. He also said that if the tension increases in the future, he will stop it again.

US President Donald Trump, like every time, has once again tried to take credit for the ceasefire during the India-Pakistan tension. He has told his own cabinet a fabricated story about his role in the India-Pakistan conflict. This time he said that he stopped a possible nuclear war between India and Pakistan.

During the cabinet meeting at the White House, Trump said that he talked to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistani leaders and warned both of them of heavy trade tariffs. Trump claimed that his strictness forced both countries to back off.

Trump is embarrassing himself by making false claims

Trump said, "I spoke to PM Modi, who is a wonderful person. I asked, 'What is the issue with Pakistan?' Then I also spoke to Pakistan. This dispute has been going on for years, in fact for centuries."

Trump may have been saying many times that India and Pakistan have been surrounded by mutual disputes for hundreds of years, but it is worth noting that it has not even been 80 years since both the countries got independence. Before independence, Pakistan was a part of India.

'I will impose such a high tariff that you will be confused...'

Trump claimed that he clearly told Pakistan that if the tension did not subside, America would not do any trade deal. He said, "I said, if you guys go towards nuclear war, then we will impose such a high tariff on you that you will be confused."

According to Trump, his warning had an effect and the issue was resolved within five hours. However, he also said that if the tension increases again in the future, he will stop it again.

This statement of Trump is a part of his claim in which he describes his diplomacy as a means to solve complex issues like India-Pakistan. But there has been no official statement from both the countries on his claim, due to which questions are being raised on its veracity.
