Yulia Svyrydenko Proposed as Ukraine’s Next Prime Minister
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has nominated 39‑year‑old economist and First Deputy PM Yulia Svyrydenko to replace Denys Shmyhal. Known for leading key economic and minerals negotiations, she will focus on boosting the economy, deregulation, and domestic defense production—pending parliamentary approval. Zelensky also plans to appoint Shmyhal as defense minister.
Yulia Svyrydenko Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed to appoint Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko as the new Prime Minister of Ukraine. Zelensky said on social media that he is initiating a change in the executive in Ukraine and Yulia Svyrydenko will lead the government. Sviridenko has also previously served as the Minister of Economic Development and Trade.
