Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: INDIA Bloc Manifesto Out Today, NDA on Oct 30 – Tejashwi vs Nitish Heats Up
Digital Desk
The Bihar election battlefield is buzzing with high-stakes manifesto launches, voter ID controversies, and fiery rallies as the state gears up for polls. The INDIA bloc, led by RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, will unveil its election manifesto today at 4:30 PM in Patna, promising a roadmap for change. Meanwhile, the ruling NDA alliance is set to release its vision document on October 30, titled Viksit Bihar, with top leaders like Nitish Kumar in attendance.
Tejashwi Yadav, the Mahagathbandhan's chief ministerial face, has finalized the manifesto amid growing attacks on the NDA's 20-year rule. "Law and order has completely collapsed under NDA," Yadav thundered at a rally in Marhaura, Saran.
He accused the Nitish-Modi government of ignoring crime spikes and public grievances, urging voters to back the Grand Alliance for accountability and justice. Rahul Gandhi, Congress LoP, echoed this in an X post: "The Modi-Nitish duo has stifled Bihar's youth dreams in education, health, and jobs." Gandhi kicks off his campaign tomorrow from Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga.
On the NDA side, Union Minister Chirag Paswan reaffirmed Nitish Kumar as CM if the alliance wins. "How many times do we need to announce this? MLAs will elect the leader democratically," Paswan said, brushing off opposition jabs. The NDA's delayed manifesto launch aims to counter INDIA's promises with a focus on development.
A surprise twist hit Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishor, with the Election Commission issuing a notice for dual voter registration in Bihar and West Bengal.
Records show Kishor listed at TMC headquarters in Kolkata's Bhabanipur – Mamata Banerjee's seat – from his 2021 consultancy days. Chirag Paswan mocked him: "You have two voter IDs yourself; how can you question others?" Kishor, positioning Jan Suraj as a third front, now faces scrutiny that could dent his anti-corruption pitch.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi stormed into the fray, campaigning in Gopalganj for candidate Anas Salam and slamming big leaders. "Modi's heart is in Ahmedabad, Nitish's in Rajgir, Lalu's in his son – none care for Muslims," Owaisi charged.
He accused Amit Shah of raising 'infiltrators' only during elections to spread hate. AIMIM has fielded 32 candidates, with Owaisi heading to Motihari and Munger next, targeting minority welfare and representation.
In a bold intra-alliance dig, ex-Union Minister RK Singh (BJP) urged voters to reject "criminal-backed" leaders from both NDA and INDIA.
"If all candidates are corrupt, press NOTA for Bihar's future," he said in a Chhath Puja message. Union Minister Lalan Singh hit back at opposition "hollow promises," claiming they ignore Bihar's progress for cheap popularity.
With phases nearing, Bihar's 2025 elections pit Tejashwi's youth-focused agenda against Nitish's experience. Manifesto clashes, celebrity campaigners like Rahul and Owaisi, and scandals like Kishor's voter row dominate headlines.
Will Mahagathbandhan unseat NDA, or does Viksit Bihar seal another term? Polls will decide as youth unemployment, lawlessness, and caste equations take center stage.
