Users on the free tier will get the basic version of Google Vids.
Users will have access to video editing and deck creation tools.
There will be a facility to upload videos from Google Drive, Photos or local device.
There will be an option for anchor-led video and screen recording.
Facility to import Google Slides and use different video templates will also be given.
But, some advanced features will be available only for paid users. These include:
Veo 3 video generation model
Storyboard feature
AI voiceover tool
That is, free users will not get the facility to generate videos or create voiceovers with the help of AI.
How to use Google Vids?
If you want to use this new platform, then follow these steps:
First of all open this link in your browser – https://workspace.google.com/intl/en_in/products/vids/
Log in with your Google account here.
Now an interface will open in front of you, which will look like Google Slides.
On the right side you will find the Record button, from which you can record your own video or screen.
With the Script option, you can write or upload a script for the scene.
With the Upload option, you can add media files from Drive, Photos or device.
With the Stock option, you can choose stock images and videos from a curated list.
Text and Shapes are basic tools, with which you can add text or shapes to the slides.
Finally, from the Templates section, you can choose the design of the video and edit it.
Specialty of Google Vids
Google Vids is slightly different from other AI-powered video generators. It does not create videos directly from text. Instead, it understands your input and creates a storyboard for the video, and then gives the user the opportunity to add the final touches.
The company says the platform now has over one million active monthly users, which shows its growing popularity.
