Air India's domestic flights at Delhi Airport now from T2: International flights from T3

From October 26, 60 domestic Air India flights will be available from Terminal 2 (T2) at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. Whereas, domestic flights of Air India Express will be available from Terminal 1 (T1). Only international flights will be available from Terminal 3 (T3). Air India gave this information on Friday.

The company said that due to the ongoing activities to increase the international passenger capacity, the domestic capacity at Terminal 3 has reduced, hence this decision has been taken. Air India's domestic flights from T2 will now have 4 digit numbers, starting with '1' (like AI1XXX).

Terminal 2 was closed earlier this year for upgrades. The airport authority has announced it will reopen for passengers on 26 October.

Passengers can check their terminal by flight number by updating their contact details in their booking. However, the airline will also provide advance information and reminders for online check-in.

Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) is the country's largest airport and has three terminals – Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3 – with the renovated Terminal 2 scheduled to reopen on October 26.

The airline stated that the terminal expansion will reduce Terminal 3's domestic capacity, necessitating the relocation of some domestic Air India and Air India Express flights from October 26. All international Air India and Air India Express flights will continue to operate from Terminal 3

Passengers with connecting flights will have easy transfers between T1, T2, and T3, and baggage will also be automatically transferred. Shuttle services will run every 10 minutes throughout the airport, and carts will be available for passengers with special needs.
