Divya Kala Mela Celebrates Ability, Inclusion and Grassroots Empowerment at Kartavya Path

The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, organises National Level Exhibitions across the country to promote inclusion, self-reliance and social awareness. 

These exhibitions provide a platform for Divyangjan artisans, artists and entrepreneurs to showcase and market their products, while also sensitising society to disability issues and celebrating abilities.

One of its flagship initiatives, Divya Kala Mela, organised by the National Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC), was held from 13th December 2025 to 21st December 2025.

The mela showcased a wide range of handicrafts, handlooms, artworks and innovative products created by Divyangjan from across India, promoting economic empowerment along with dignity and social inclusion.

The prestigious Divya Kala Mela Ceremony, held at Kartavya Path, India Gate, witnessed a moment of pride with the felicitation of Shri Rajeev Bhatt, recipient of the National Award for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities – Sarvashrestha Vyakti, 2025.

He was honoured by the Honourable Union Cabinet Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment,  Virender Kumar ji, and the Honourable Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta ji, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the disability sector.

 Rajeev Bhatt has devoted over three decades to the empowerment of persons with disabilities, with a special focus on Autism and Dyslexia.

Working from the grassroots level, his efforts span awareness building, advocacy and the promotion of inclusive education and social participation. Guided by his vision of creating an inclusive India, he has played a significant role in nurturing understanding, acceptance and empathy within society.

An author and thought leader, Shri Bhatt has written two groundbreaking books — Decoding Autism and Decoding Dyslexia — which serve as important resources for parents, teachers and caregivers, offering practical insights and compassionate approaches to supporting neurodiverse individuals.

The Divya Kala Mela provides valuable opportunities for Divyangjan to exhibit and market their products and services, promoting self-reliance and visibility. Alongside this, the recognition of dedicated changemakers likeRajeev Bhatt, who has devoted over three decades to empowering persons with disabilities through grassroots action, awareness and advocacy for Autism and Dyslexia, highlights the nation’s commitment to inclusion and empowerment, reinforcing the vision of a more inclusive and empathetic India.🇮🇳
