Floods Hit School in Jharkhand, 162 Children Rescued; Cloudburst in Uttarakhand Kills 2 Workers

As monsoon rains lash across India, incidents of natural disasters continue to emerge from multiple states. In Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur, 162 children were rescued after their residential school was flooded. Meanwhile, a cloudburst on the Yamunotri route in Uttarakhand led to the death of two construction workers, with seven others still missing.
Social Media Alert Leads to Timely School Rescue in Jamshedpur
Flood-like conditions hit Love Kush Residential School in Jamshedpur due to incessant rainfall. The water level rose rapidly, trapping over 160 students inside. It was only after posts on social media platforms began circulating that local police responded swiftly and conducted a rescue operation using boats and ropes, safely evacuating all children.
Cloudburst on Yamunotri Route Leaves 2 Dead, 7 Missing
In Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, a cloudburst struck the Silai Band area near Yamunotri, damaging a partially constructed hotel where several workers were staying. Two laborers lost their lives, and seven remain missing. Rescue teams are actively searching the debris-covered site.
Uttarkashi DM Prashant Arya confirmed the disruption of the Yamunotri route and said relief operations are ongoing. Due to continuous heavy rainfall, Char Dham Yatra has been temporarily suspended for 24 hours, with pilgrims halted at Haridwar, Rishikesh, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Sonprayag, and Vikasnagar.

Widespread Rainfall Warning Issued by IMD
