The political landscape in Bihar is heating up as the INDIA bloc prepares to release its much-awaited election manifesto today. The joint manifesto of the Mahagathbandhan, led by RJD leader and chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav, will be unveiled at 4 PM in Patna, setting the tone for the alliance’s campaign ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.
According to sources, all constituent parties of the INDIA bloc—including the RJD, Congress, Left parties, and others—have reached a consensus on the key promises outlined in the document. The manifesto is expected to focus on employment generation, social justice, farmer welfare, and women’s empowerment, themes that have long defined the opposition alliance’s agenda in Bihar.
In a major political development, the RJD expelled 27 leaders on Monday for contesting as independent candidates against official INDIA bloc nominees. Among those expelled is Ritu Jaiswal, a prominent face in the party’s organizational structure. The move underscores the RJD’s zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline ahead of the crucial elections.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to kick off his campaign from Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga on October 29, marking the beginning of high-octane rallies across the state. His participation is expected to boost the INDIA bloc’s outreach among youth and rural voters.
As Bihar braces for a fiercely contested election, the INDIA bloc aims to project a united front against the ruling NDA, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The release of the manifesto and Rahul Gandhi’s campaign launch are expected to set the stage for an intense political showdown in the coming weeks.
