Sad news has come from Mata Vaishno Devi. 30 people have died in the landslide at Mata Vaishno Devi. Many people are missing after the accident, due to which the death toll may increase. Due to heavy rains, a landslide occurred near the Ardhkumari cave temple on the Mata Vaishno Devi Dham road located in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The accident took place near the Inderprastha Bhojanalaya near Ardhkumari at around 3 pm, which is almost the middle part of the 12 km long walking route. Due to heavy rains, the flood from the top of the mountain swept away everything. 30 people have died in the accident. While more than a dozen people were injured. The Yatra has been postponed for the time being. At the same time, the rescue operation is going on.
Reasi SSP Paramveer Singh confirmed that landslides occurred due to heavy rains and many pilgrims were trapped in it. The yatra was suspended immediately after the accident. He said that the death toll in this accident has reached 30.
According to eyewitnesses, a landslide occurred on 271 stairs near Ardhkumari. With a loud explosion, debris and heavy stones fell on the track from the mountain. Many pilgrims were trapped in it. After the accident, the yatra has been stopped so that rescue work can be done faster.
Every day thousands of devotees go to the court of Mata Vaishno Devi. But on Tuesday, the yatra was inauspicious. A landslide occurred on 271 stairs near Ardhkumari. Many pilgrims were trapped due to the falling debris from the mountain. A stampede occurred due to the falling of stones. Kiran from Mohali, Punjab was also among those who were trapped in the rain of stones, trees and rocks.
