Nikhil Sosale was going from Bangalore airport to Mumbai this morning. During this time, the police arrested him from the airport. Apart from them, the police have also arrested three other people.
Let us tell you that earlier Bangalore Police has registered a case of culpable homicide against RCB. Apart from RCB, DNA Entertainment and Karnataka State Cricket Association have also been made accused in the FIR. Police have registered a case under various sections including culpable homicide.
After the FIR, CM Siddaramaiah has ordered the police to arrest the officers of RCB and DNA Event Management Agency. Also, 8 officers including the Police Commissioner of Bengaluru have been suspended. At the same time, there is also talk that the government can hand over the investigation of the case to the CID.
Apart from the Police Commissioner, the suspended officers include Additional Police Commissioner, Cubbon Park Police Station Incharge, ACP, DCP Central Division, Cricket Stadium Incharge, Station House Master, Station House Officer. Seemant Kumar Singh has been made the new Police Commissioner of Bengaluru. He took charge on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
11 deaths occurred in the stampede
Actually the final match of IPL 2025 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad on June 3. At least 11 people died and many were injured due to stampede during RCB's victory parade in Bengaluru. After this, many officers including the Police Commissioner were removed. The Karnataka High Court has also taken a tough stand regarding this incident. The High Court has taken suo motu cognizance and fixed June 10 as the date for hearing. At the same time, some people have also demanded to register a case against the Karnataka Cricket Association and the CEO of M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
