CM Patel Inaugurates International Food Festival at Sabarmati Riverfront

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, alongside Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the four-day International Food Festival, ‘Food for Thought Fest 2025,’ at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Center on Wednesday. The festival, running from November 13 to 16, aims to offer a global culinary experience while promoting indigenous products.

The event began with CM Patel and other dignitaries taking a pledge to encourage the use of local goods. The Chief Minister also visited the festival’s stalls and signed a board highlighting Ahmedabad and Gujarat’s readiness for the 2030 Commonwealth Games.

A Spiritual Pavilion, featuring Mahaprasad from the Puri Jagannath Temple, was also inaugurated. Chief Minister Patel, Union Minister Pradhan, State Minister Rivaba Jadeja, Urban Development Minister Darshanaben Vaghela, MLAs, and BJP corporators partook in the Mahaprasad. Attendees were required to remove their footwear before receiving the sacred offering, in accordance with tradition.

“This festival is not just about food; it is a celebration of culture, tradition, and global culinary excellence,” said CM Patel during the inauguration.

The festival features a diverse array of offerings, including luxury lunches by Taj Soulinaire priced at ₹2,500, Mahaprasad at ₹2,100, vegetarian delicacies prepared by Michelin-starred chefs, live cooking demonstrations from chefs across Nepal, Spain, and the Netherlands, and a first-of-its-kind live coffee roasting pavilion. Celebrity chefs Ranveer Brar and Vikki Ratnani will also be present.

Entry to the festival is ticketed, with meals and beverages available for purchase at the food pavilions. Visitors can book tickets via BookMyShow and access the menu and pricing by scanning the QR code provided by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.

The festival seeks to provide Ahmedabadis and visitors an immersive gastronomic experience while celebrating both local and international culinary traditions.
