NDA Seat-Sharing Announcement Expected Today

After three days of intense discussions, the NDA’s seat-sharing formula for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 appears nearly finalised, with Chirag Paswan reportedly on board. However, Upendra Kushwaha seems dissatisfied with the outcome, sparking speculation through a cryptic social media post.

Kushwaha Voices Unease Over Deal

On Saturday morning, RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha posted on X:

“Do not pay attention to rumours. Talks are not yet complete. Please wait…! I am unaware of how news is spreading in the media. If someone is planting news, it is deceit and a trick. Stay alert.”

His statement hinted at discontent over the proposed seat distribution. Sources suggest Kushwaha was offered six seats, far fewer than the 20 he had demanded. He is scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi later today to discuss the issue.

Tentative NDA Seat-Sharing Formula (Likely Distribution)

  • JD(U): 102 seats
  • BJP: 101 seats
  • LJP (Ram Vilas): 24 seats
  • HAM: 10 seats
  • RLM: 6 seats

BJP Core Group Meets in Delhi

Senior Bihar BJP leaders gathered at the residence of state in-charge Vinod Tawde in Delhi for a core group meeting. The session, attended by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP state president Dr. Dilip Jaiswal, and JDU leaders, focused on finalising seat distribution and candidate lists.

Dr. Jaiswal stated that the Bihar BJP’s candidate panel, prepared after three days of internal deliberations, will be submitted to the Central Election Committee (CEC) tomorrow. He emphasized that “everything within the NDA is progressing smoothly.”

Tawde echoed similar confidence, saying, “Everything is positive in the NDA. There is no discontent. The announcement will be made soon.”

Chirag Paswan, LJP(R) Endorse NDA Consensus

Chirag Paswan, after meeting Union Minister Nityanand Rai, confirmed that talks were in their “final stages.” He remarked, “Where my Prime Minister Modi is, I don’t need to worry about my respect.” Rai assured that “all matters will be finalised soon.”

Later, the LJP (Ram Vilas) parliamentary board met under Chirag’s leadership. MP Shambhavi Chaudhary said all members had empowered the party chief to make final decisions on seat-sharing and candidate selection.

LJP MP Veena Devi added that discussions were “very positive,” dismissing reports of dissatisfaction among NDA allies as baseless. She asserted that “the NDA will return to power in Bihar with a strong majority.”

JDU Welcomes Arun Kumar Back

In another development, former Jehanabad MP Dr. Arun Kumar, once a close associate of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during the Samata Party era, is set to rejoin JDU along with his son Rituraj Kumar. While Arun Kumar reiterated that he would not contest elections, he said his son’s candidature will be decided by the party.

Administrative Movement and Resignation

Amid these political developments, BJP MLA Mishrilal submitted his resignation, adding another layer of intrigue to the ongoing alliance talks.

Deputy CM: “All Allies Are Satisfied”

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said discussions were “almost complete,” assuring that “no one is unhappy” and “all allies have shared their views and are satisfied.”

As the day progresses, all eyes are on Delhi, where final talks led by Amit Shah are expected to seal the NDA’s seat-sharing formula — potentially setting the tone for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
